Prep: 5 mins Cook: 10 mins Total: 15 mins Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
dash salt
dash pepper
4 hamburger buns (see recipe)
4 strips of bacon
1 1/3 cups lettuce
8 slices of cheese (4 American,4 cheddar)
1 to 2 slices of red onion, separated
8 pickles (your choice)
mayo
ketchup
mustard
Directions:
Preheat your indoor grill or skillet to high heat.
Divide the ground beef into eight even portions (3 ounces each). Roll each portion into a ball, then press each ball flat to form a patty about the same diameter as a bun.
Grill/Cook the patties for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until done. Lightly salt and pepper each side of the patties.
As the meat cooks, brown the faces of the buns in a hot skillet. Watch the buns closely so that they do not burn.
Build each burger by first spreading mayo and mustard on the face of the bottom bun. Arrange lettuce on top of spread.
Put one patty with American cheese on top of lettuce, followed by another patty with cheddar cheese, then bacon.
On the top bun spread ketchup and top with 2 pickles and 2-3 onion slices.
Turn the top part of the burger over onto the bottom and serve with fries*. (*see recipe)
